Dear AYSO 232 Families,
It's that wonderful time of year again! I'm thrilled to extend a warm invitation to each of you to join us for the upcoming soccer season. This year, we're excited to offer an early bird registration from April 15th – April 30th and get $30 off of your registration cost. By signing up early, you not only secure your spot but also help us in planning a season that's bigger and better than ever!
Reflecting on the past 12 months, it's astounding to see how far we've come. There was a time when the future of AYSO 232 in the Verde Valley was uncertain, with the board considering the tough decision of closing the program. Yet, with resilience, dedication, and an unwavering passion for the game, we've not only continued our tradition but also expanded and enriched our offerings.
I'll quickly highlight some of our biggest accomplishments from last year. We've added a U16 division, welcoming over 35 eager players. Our innovative youth mentorship program has been a game-changer, providing new coaches with support and giving experienced youth players the chance to impart their knowledge and skills. The introduction of the Best By Farr Region 232 playoffs added an epic climax to our season, generating excitement and a competitive spirit among our players. We also launched the Verde Valley United F.C., a self-sustaining competitive soccer club that rosters more than 70 players competing at some of the highest levels of competition in the Southwest.
None of these accomplishments would have been possible without the extraordinary contributions of our past board members, current board members, the dedication of our coaches, referees, and the tireless efforts of our parents. Your commitment to juggling practices, games, and events, oftentimes in a single day, showcases the incredible support system we have within AYSO 232. We extend our deepest thanks and admiration for your heroic parental duties - you are the true MVPs of our community.
As we gear up for another memorable season, I encourage each of you to consider picking up a small role, be it refereeing a couple of games, helping with field maintenance, helping with administrative and organizational tasks, or one of the many things it takes to make the season happen. The impact of your involvement is immense and hugely appreciated by parents, players, and our community. Registration for these positions are open in the 2024 Fall Season Volunteers Program at AYSO232.org.
Together, we're not just teaching soccer; we're building a future filled with leadership, teamwork, and respect for these young future leaders. I look forward to seeing the incredible things we will accomplish together this season!
